Hurdles and Gates
John Harvey offers a wide variety of hurdles. They are made from box section, painted or galvanised and plastic clad.
Primarily, they form the sides of all our Tents and are used to create a secure outside run space alongside Tents and Weaner Huts. They can be teamed with Radial Gates to create an AI Tent Radial and also used in Weigh Tents and Lairage. Their use however is totally flexible and not just limited to the above.
In order to create a product tailored to your individual needs we provide variations on our standard equipment. These options are detailed below.

Standard Hurdles Galvanised
Clad with 4’0″ plastic.

Lower Hurdles
Clad with 2’0″ plastic and available either painted or galvanised.
- 8’0” x 3’0” (20x20mm box)

- 8’0” x 3’0” Drinker (20x20mm box)

Feeder Back
These are a set of two Hurdles which are placed at the rear of John Harvey Tents to house the Black Plastic Feeders using the height adjustable slots. Clad with 4’0″ plastic and finished using our zinc based green paint.
- 8’0” x 4’0” (30x30mm box) left and right hand to suit a 16’0”(W) Tent with separate spreader bar.
- 10’0” x 4’0” (50x50mm box) left and right hand to suit a 20’0”(W) Tent with separate spreader bar.
- 24’0” x 4’0” (50x50mm box) one piece back with integral spreader bar to suit a 24’0”(W) Tent.
Overlap Gates
These are a set of two Gates which are placed at the rear of a Tent if a Feeder Back is not required but the Tent needs to be closed off. Clad with 4’0″ plastic.
- 8’6” x 4’0” 38mm ERW galvanised – to suit a 16’0”(W) Tent
- 10’6” x 4’0” 30mm x 30mm painted box – to suit a 20’0”(W) Tent
- 12’6” x 4’0” 50mm x 50mm painted box – to suit a 24’0″(W) Tent
Radial Gates in Frames
John Harvey Radial Gates are used outside of an AI Tent with Hurdles to create a radial. These are 2.6m wide by 2m high and available either painted or galvanised.
The cladding we offer our Radial Gates with is as follows:
- Bar clad – 25mm square box at 125mm centres.
- Clad with Plastic.
- Clad with Galvanised Sheet.
Standard Gates
These are predominantly used in AI Tent internal pens. Finished using our zinc based green paint.
- Bar Gates – 8’0” or 10’0”.
- Plastic Clad Gates – 8’0” or 10’0”.
